The Yorkshire Water Hull Triathlon 2017
The Yorkshire Water Triathlon 2017 is a unique race taking place on Sunday 30th July. Set within Hull's city centre and Marina area of the city. The race starts in the historic Princes Dock which is surrounded on all side by cafes and viewing areas making it a perfect area for spectators. The flat, technical bike route takes athletes through fully closed city streets on a multi-lap tour of the city. The run then takes athletes on a 5km route which takes some of the city's iconic scenery including the Trinity Church, Old Town, Marina and The Deep. Enter as an individual or as part of our corporate relay challenge. The Yorkshire Water Triathlon will guarantee you a race experience like no other in this City of Culture 2017.
The swim leg is a 750m, 2 lap open water swim in Princes Dock. Competitors will set of in groups depending on predicted swim times. Buoys will mark the route and swimmers will be accompanied by safety canoes and divers.
The bike route is a 5 lap, 18km route that takes you through closed, narrow streets. The route is very flat with one small incline. There are plenty of twists and turns which makes the bike leg exciting and fast.
The run route is a single 5km loop. Starting at the side of the dock it weaves it way through the citys old town, passed the Holy Trinity Church. It then heads along the regenerated fruit market area, the Marina and long the River Humber. Runners then pass over the River Hull and head around the iconic Deep building. The final stretch heads up hill over Myton Bridge before ascending back down to the narrow streets of the Market area and the finish line.
